Marine Mammals Protection Regulations 1992

Declaration Notice

Pursuant to Regulation 15 of the Marine Mammals Protection Regulations 1992, I, Hugh Francis Malcolm Logan, Director-General of Conservation, hereby give notice that for a period of 10 years from the date of this notice, no permits shall be granted for commercial vessel operations to view southern right whales around the Auckland Islands (defined here as all those waters surrounding the Auckland Islands out to 12 nautical miles) for the months April-October inclusive.

On 11 June 2002 at the District Court at Tauranga, Dale Murray Bidois was convicted of the following offence – driving with excess breath alcohol (subsequent offence) – and in addition to the sentence imposed on him, the Court has ordered that a

District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to sections 5 and 28B of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Louis Matthew Bidois, barrister and solicitor of Rotorua

to be a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947 on and from 1 July 2002.
