N42 Rimutaka

N42 001 b, h
Objection Belmont Ratepayers Improvement Association (Inc)
Object to the inclusion of the area between Speedy’s Creek and Liverton Road
in the proposed Rimutaka electorate on the grounds of community of interest.

Suggested solution Run the southern boundary of Rimutaka along Liverton
Road, not Speedy’s Creek.

N42 002 b
Objection Western Ward Committee, Hutt City Council
Object to the inclusion of Belmont Flat in the proposed Rimutaka electorate as
its community of interest lies with the rest of Belmont, incorporated into the
proposed Ohariu-Belmont electorate.

Suggested solution Incorporate the entirety of the western hills into the Hutt
electorates (Hutt South and Rimutaka) and adjust the Naenae boundary to
allow for the increased population in these electorates.

N46 Rongotai

Objection M Darroch
Objects to the use of only the name ‘Rongotai’ for an electorate that extends to
the Chatham Islands.

Suggested solution Rename the electorate Chathams-Rongotai.

S02 West Coast-Tasman

Objection P J Wilks
Objects to the Redwood Valley area of Richmond being included in the
proposed West Coast-Tasman electorate as its community of interest lies with
Nelson.

Suggested solution Include this area in the proposed Nelson electorate.

S02 002 b
Objection B W & H C Moseley
Similar to S02/001

Suggested solution If Nelson is too large to include the Tasman area, perhaps
a separate Tasman electorate including Motueka and Takaka could be
established – particularly with the rate of growth in this area.

S02 003 b, h
Objection NZ National Party — Canterbury / Westland Region
Objects to the division of the communities of Fox Hill and Bellgrove by the
proposed boundaries, on the grounds of community of interest.

Suggested solution Move the remainder of the Fox Hill and Bellgrove areas
into West Coast-Tasman.
