Notice of Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager at Kiwi Street School

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to Kiwi Street School because of risks to the operation of the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:

• the financial management of the school; and
• implementing the action plan arising out of the Education Review Office report.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on:

• options for the future direction of the school.

The following condition applies to the exercising of the powers of the board and the limited statutory manager:

• The powers of the limited statutory manager shall be exercised in consultation with the board.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to Wanganui Girls’ College because of financial risks to the operation of the college.

The following functions, powers and duties of the Wanganui Girls’ College Board of Trustees are vested in the limited statutory manager:

• The financial management of the school; and
• review of the board’s financial policies and all financial management procedures.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on:

• financial strategy; and
• financial reporting and monitoring.

The following condition applies to the exercising of the powers of the board by the limited statutory manager:

• The powers of the limited statutory manager shall be exercised in consultation with the board.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Notice of Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager at Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Middle School

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Board of Trustees to address performance management and curriculum issues at the middle school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:

• Personnel management, including the development and implementation of a performance management system and a review of the current performance of all teaching staff; and
• a review of the curriculum so that the school meets the curriculum needs of 2003 students.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following matters:

• Any matters arising from the above powers, functions and duties; and
• all matters pertinent to their resolution.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.
