Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) (d) (i) of the Education (Early
Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under
authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby
cancel the licence dated 31 January 2002, which was granted
under those Regulations to Sandra Nelmes in respect of
Putaruru Playcentre (30005), situated at Buckland Street,
Putaruru.
This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its
notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Pursuant to section 15 of the Private Schools Conditional
Integration Act 1975, I hereby give notice that the
integration agreement with the proprietor of Sacred Heart
College, Wanganui (193) has been cancelled, by mutual
agreement, with effect from 28 January 2003.

Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001

Designation of Auditing Agency

Pursuant to section 32 of the Health and Disability Services
(Safety) Act 2001 (“the Act”), the Director-General of
Health designates Bureau Veritas Quality International
(“the auditing agency”) to audit the provision or likely
future provision of the following kinds of health care
services:

  • Hospital Care (as defined in section 4 (1) of the Act)
    excluding children’s health services and maternity
    services
  • Rest Home Care (as defined in section 6 (2) of the Act)
  • Residential Disability Care (as defined in section 4 (1) of
    the Act) excluding sensory disability

This designation is subject to the following conditions:

  1. The auditing agency must ensure that where it audits
    the provision of health care services for people with
    physical disabilities, or intellectual disabilities, or
    psychiatric disabilities or mental illnesses, the
    auditing agency observes the following:
  • For audits involving services for people with
    physical disabilities, a person with a pronounced
    physical disability must fully participate in all
    aspects of the audit.

  • For audits involving services for people with
    intellectual disabilities, a person with an
    intellectual disability (accompanied by a support
    person where necessary), or a close family or
    whanau member of a person with an intellectual
    disability, must participate in all aspects of the
    audit.

  • For people with psychiatric disabilities or mental
    illnesses, a past or present consumer of mental
    health services must fully participate in all aspects
    of the audit.

  1. The auditing agency must inform the Ministry of
    Health immediately by way of written notice if there
    is any change to their accreditation status with
    JAS-ANZ.

This notice revokes in its entirety the notice that first
designated Bureau Veritas Quality International,
pursuant to section 32 of the Health and Disability Services
(Safety) Act 2001, published in the New Zealand Gazette,
8 August 2002, No. 94, page 2552.
Dated at Wellington this 7th day of October 2002 and
expiring on the 7th day of October 2005.
