Schedule
1.0 Commencement—These amendments shall come
into force on 22 March 2001.
2.0 Rules of Casino Table Games Amendment No. 5—
Amendment No. 5, as set out in the New Zealand Gazette of
11 May 2000, No. 49, is to be amended to apply to the Rules
of Casino Table Games approved to be conducted and
played in the licensed casinos as set out in the following
editions of the New Zealand Gazette:
(a) Supplement, 28 January 1998, No. 8, 9, 10, 11,
12 and 13;
(b) Supplement, 29 January 1998, No. 16, 17, 18,
19 and 20;
(c) Supplement, 29 January 1999, No. 9, 10, 11 and 12;
(d) 9 September 1999, No. 114;
(e) 13 January 2000, No. 1; and
(f) Supplement, 21 January 2000, No. 5.
3.0 Rules of Casino Table Games Amendment No. 6—
Amendment No. 6, as set out in the New Zealand Gazette of
10 August 2000, No. 89, is to be amended to apply to the
Rules of Casino Table Games approved to be conducted and
played in the licensed casinos as set out in the following
editions of the New Zealand Gazette:
(a) Supplement, 28 January 1998, No. 8, 9, 10, 11,
12 and 13;
(b) Supplement, 29 January 1998, No. 16, 17, 18,
19 and 20;
(c) Supplement, 29 January 1999, No. 9, 10, 11 and 12;
(d) 9 September 1999, No. 114;
(e) 13 January 2000, No. 1;
(f) Supplement, 21 January 2000, No. 5;
(g) 11 May 2000, No. 49; and
(h) Supplement, 12 May 2000, No. 50.
4.0 Rules of Casino Table Games Amendment No. 7—
Amendment No. 7, as set out in the New Zealand Gazette of
7 September 2000, No. 123, is to be amended to apply to the
Rules of Casino Table Games approved to be conducted and
played in the licensed casinos as set out in the following
editions of the New Zealand Gazette:

5.0 Division 1—General Rules for Table Games
Application
Rule 2.1 of this division is hereby deleted and the following
substituted:
“2.1 This division of the Rules of Casino Table Games
shall apply to the following games:
(a) blackjack;
(b) mini baccarat;
(c) midi baccarat;
(d) baccarat;
(e) Caribbean stud poker;
(f) tournament play;
(g) roulette;
(h) tai-sai;
(i) money wheel;
(j) craps;
(k) pai gow;
(l) poker;
(m) tournament poker;
(n) pontoon,
together with, and subject to, the rules governing the
conduct of the particular game. These rules shall be
binding on the casino operator and its employees and
agents.”
6.0 Division 2—Blackjack
Opening of Table for Gaming
6.1 Section 6 of this division is hereby amended by inserting
after rule 6.4 the following:
“6.5 Notwithstanding rules 6.1 to 6.4, pre-checked or
pre-shuffled cards may be used provided they are
secured in a designated area on completion of the
pre-check or pre-shuffle, until such time as they
are required. Before being cut pre-shuffled cards
shall be either chemmy shuffled and/or riffle
shuffled, but pre-checked cards shall be:
(a) chemmy shuffled;
(b) stacked; and
(c) riffle shuffled.”
Shuffle and Cut of Cards
6.2 Section 7 of this division is hereby amended by inserting
after rule 7.1 the following:
“7.1A Where it is proposed that pre-shuffled decks of
cards be introduced into the game any of the
players may, before the first game in which the
cards are used:
(a) on request, visually inspect the decks of
pre-shuffled cards, or any of them, before
their use; and
(b) require that any decks of cards issued as
pre-shuffled be inspected and mixed in
accordance with section 6, shuffled by the
dealer, and cut in accordance with this
section.”
6.3 Rule 7.7 of this division is hereby deleted and the
following substituted:
“7.7 The casino operator may, after any round of play,
direct that the cards in play at the table be
replaced, in which event the new cards shall be
checked, shuffled and cut in accordance with
sections 6 and 7, except where pre-shuffled cards
are introduced and accepted as such.”
7.0 Division 3—Mini Baccarat
Opening of Table for Gaming
7.1 Section 6 of this division is hereby amended by inserting
after rule 6.4 the following:
“6.5 Notwithstanding rules 6.1 to 6.4, pre-checked or
