Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997

Notice of Application to Register Trade Name Products (Notice No. 1224)

Pursuant to section 14 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry hereby gives notice that the following applications have been made to register trade name products under section 9 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (“ACVM”) Act 1997:

Trade Name: Frontline Plus for Cats
Reference: A09008
Active Ingredient and Concentration:
Fipronil 100g/litre
S-methoprene 120g/litre
General Use Claim:
Kills fleas for 6 weeks. Prevents the development of all flea stages for 6 weeks. Treats and controls flea allergy dermatitis. Treats and controls lice. Long acting topical flea and lice control.

Trade Name: Frontline Plus for Dogs
Reference: A09009
Active Ingredient and Concentration:
Fipronil 100g/litre
S-methoprene 90g/litre
General Use Claim:
Kills fleas for at least 2 months. Prevents the development of all flea stages for at least 6 weeks. Treats and controls flea allergy dermatitis. Treats and controls lice. Aids in the control of the New Zealand cattle tick. Long acting topical flea, lice and tick control.

Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General, under section 17 of the ACVM Act 1997, concerning the application notified above.

Such submissions:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission;
(b) may state any decision sought on that application;
(c) must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in this New Zealand Gazette; and
(d) should be forwarded to the address given below.

A copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for their information.
A copy of the public information on the application may be obtained from ACVM Group, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, P.O. Box 2526, Wellington or on the web site at www.maf.govt.nz/acvm/
