Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974

Certification of Attachments for Logging Bolsters on Trucks and Trailers Used for the Transport of Logs

Pursuant to Regulation 16A (1) (f) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, and pursuant to powers sub-delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety, I, Peter Waring, Senior Engineer, hereby determine that the certification of the manufacture and installation of bolster attachments, in compliance with the requirements of the Code of Practice specified in Schedule 1 on trucks and trailers used for the transport of logs, is permitted to manufacturing certifiers appointed in accordance with a Deed of Appointment by the Director of Land Transport Safety. Such certification does not include the certification of the design of bolster attachments to the Code of Practice, and is not permissible unless the design of the bolster attachments has been certified by a person approved for this purpose by the Director of Land Transport Safety.

Bolster Attachment Code (issue 27 November 1998) issued on behalf of the Log Transport Safety Committee.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Timaru District) Notice No. 2, 2000

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This Notice may be cited as the Traffic (Timaru District) Notice No. 2, 2000.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities at all times pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometre an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

  4. The following notice is revoked:
    The Limited Speed Zone Declared*.

First Schedule

SITUATED within Timaru District at Cave Village:

  • Andrew Street.
  • Anne Street.
  • Elizabeth Street: from its eastern end to a point 100 metres measured easterly generally along the said road from the Cave-Pareora Road.
  • Charles Street.
  • Philip Street.
  • Unnamed Road (Charles Street extension between Elizabeth Street and State Highway 8/18).

SITUATED within Timaru District at Orari:

  • Macdonald Street.
  • Oak Street: from Macdonald Street to its northern end.

Second Schedule

SITUATED within Timaru District at Orari:

Orari Station Road: from the No. 1 State Highway (Awatuna to Bluff) to a point 100 metres measured south-easterly generally along the said road from Jolloch Road.
