“4.3A In the case of casino promotions conducted with match play coupons, and for the avoidance of doubt, the following conditions apply:

(a) when match play coupons are used in a promotion involving a table game, the minimum and maximum wagers as set out in the Rules of Casino Table Games apply as follows:

(i) the minimum wager shall be comprised of chips only; and

(ii) the maximum wager cannot be exceeded by a combination of chips and match play coupons;

(b) a player is not required to comply with the following rules regarding the placement of match play coupons:

(i) rule 4.3 of division 9; and

(ii) rule 3.2 of division 10; and

(c) rule 10.3 of division 1 does not apply when match play coupons are used.”

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Docket 98/EXE/5—CAR 121.569

On 24 December 1999. To Air New Zealand Limited. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 121.569 (a) (1) (ii) that each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each person performing the functions of a pilot has completed, on the make and basic model aeroplane, for turbojet and turbofan powered aeroplanes 10 takeoffs and landings, only in respect of those pilots employed by Air New Zealand Limited as Second Officers who are designated as a flight crew member for the cruise period of an air operation to augment the minimum crew specified in the aircraft flight manual.

This exemption shall apply until withdrawn in writing by the Director.

99/EXE/7—CAR 125.369 (a)

On 21 December 1999. To Origin Pacific Airways Limited. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 125.369 (a) that each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure each of its multi-engine turbine powered aeroplanes is equipped with a flight data recorder in accordance with B.4 of Appendix B of Civil Aviation Rule Part 125, only with respect to the following Jetstream 31 aircraft: ZK-JSA, ZK-JSB, ZK-JSJ, ZK-JSX, and ZK-OSW, provided that the aircraft is equipped with a 5 parameter Sundstrand 980-4100-FWUS Flight Data Recorder.

This exemption shall apply until 1st day of January 2003 or until withdrawn in writing by the Director.

0/EXE/37—CAR 61.801 (a) (3) and 61.80 (a) (4)

On 8 December 1999. To each person seeking an instrument rating from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rules—

(a) 61.801 (a) (3) that the ground training required for the issue of an instrument rating (A) or (H) be conducted by an organisation certified under Part 141 to conduct that ground training; and

(b) 61.801 (a) (4) that the flight training required for the issue of an instrument rating (A) or (H) is conducted by an organisation certified under Part 141 to conduct that flight training.

The exemption shall remain in effect:

(c) Until the Civil Aviation Rules are amended to require all training necessary for the issue of ATPL, CPL, instrument rating, instructor rating and heavy type ratings to be conducted by organisation holding aviation documents issued by the Director; or

(d) Unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.

0/EXE/41—CAR 121.511 (1)

On 23 December 1999. To each holder of an air operator certificate issued under Part 119 that authorises the holder to conduct air operations in accordance with Part 121, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 121.511 (1) that each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each person acting as a pilot, other than as pilot-in-command, of an aeroplane, prior to commencing the training specified in Subpart I or Subpart M of Part 121 has acquired at least 500 hours of flight time as a pilot, including at least 100 hours of flight time in air operations.

This exemption shall apply until withdrawn in writing by the Director.

On 13 January 2000. To Mt Onion Family Trust from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101 ( a ) that the aircraft bear a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive.

This exemption shall apply unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.

0/EXE/43—CAR 61.905 (b) (1)

On 24 December 1999. To Jeremy John Peters, Murray Boyd Fowler and Charles Joseph Elliot from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 61.905 (b) (1) that the holder of a current General Aviation Flight Examiner Rating, in order to exercise the privileges of that rating, operates within an aviation training organisation certificated under Part 141.

This exemption shall apply until 31 March 2000 or until withdrawn in writing by the Director.

On 20 December 1999. To each holder of an air operator certificate from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 125.375 that each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each of its turbine-powered aeroplanes operating under IFR is equipped with a GPWS no later than 30 June 2000 if that aeroplane has a MCTOW in excess of 5700kg, only with respect to those aeroplanes entered in the New Zealand Register of Aircraft prior to 1 June 2000.

This exemption shall remain in effect until 1 January 2002 unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.
