Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session

After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (a), 42 (9), 42 (3), 48A and 23 (2) of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand (“the Council”), in a decision dated 10 December 1999, ordered that the name of Janine Maria Gallagher, an enrolled nurse, be removed from the roll of nurses.

The council declined to fix a time after which Janine Maria Gallagher could apply to have her name reinstated to the roll.

The council also ordered that Janine Maria Gallagher pay $7,000.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the council, that a notice stating the effect...
