Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Notice of Approval of a Code of Practice and Revocation of its Current Edition Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992—Approved Code of Practice for Cranes : Includes the Design, Manufacture, Supply, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Cranes

Pursuant to section 20 (3) of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, whereas subsections (3) (a) and (3) (b) of section 20 of that Act have been fulfilled and complied with, the Minister of Labour hereby gives notice that she approves a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety in design, manufacture, supply, safe operation, maintenance and inspection of cranes under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, entitled “Code of Practice for Cranes”.

The Minister of Labour also approves the revocation of the Approved Code of Practice for Cranes and Lifting Appliances, published by the Occupational Safety and Health Service, Department of Labour, Wellington, New Zealand, in June 1995.

These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to describe the general health and safety provisions for the management of cranes and for the protection of employees and others.
