Notes

Category 1
Pharmacists are required to register in Category 1 when they are first registered. Pharmacists who initially register after 30 September in any year may register as Category 2 for the initial period of registration.

Category 2
Pharmacists who register under this concessionary fee must pay the difference and change to Category 1 if they work in excess of 600 hours per annum.

Category 3
Apart from the life membership given to members over 80, there is no concession available relative to age. Instead the concession is based on length of membership.

Category 4
This does not entitle a member to practise in New Zealand. On return to New Zealand, a member must upgrade to the appropriate category and pay the disciplinary levy.

Category 5
To be eligible for this category of registration, the pharmacist must agree not to practise as a pharmacist. A person who seeks reinstatement to practise after registering as Category 5 may be required to establish competence prior to reclassification.

Category 6
Does not allow the member to practise as a pharmacist.

Future disciplinary levies may vary and will relate to the actual costs of discipline in the prior year. No separate charge is being made for competence assessment of currently registered pharmacists.
