Civil Aviation Rules

The Minister of Transport intends to make ordinary rules in the following CAR Parts—

Part 21 Certification of Products and Parts; and

Part 91 – General Operating and Flight Rules

(Proposed amendments incorporate aircraft noise and engine emission standards)

– pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990. The submission close-off time for the proposed part is 24 June 1999.

Copies of the Notice of Proposed Rule Making are available for viewing at: Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt or on application to: The Docket Clerk, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt 6315. The NPRM is also available on the CAA Internet site http:www.caa.govt.nz

Comments in respect of this notice are invited and are to be made in writing to the Docket Clerk quoting NPRM 99-2, Docket 99/CAR/1342.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Martyn Jacob de Liefde, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

Maritime Safety Authority of New Zealand

Maritime Transport Act 1994

Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996

Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an Instrument of Delegation dated 19 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an Instrument of Delegation dated 26 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime Safety did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the
