Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
to me by an Instrument of Delegation dated 26 March 1997.
Therefore I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Divisional Manager, Maritime Operations, hereby make the following declaration:
Declaration
The Order in Council under section 12 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, entitled the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1992, shall not apply in respect of the following ship:
Rangatahi II
and workboats, zodiacs and small craft associated with that ship whilst working in the protected area designated “Area 2–Hauraki Gulf” for the purpose of a marine survey for a proposed outfall for North Shore City Council, from 8 June 1999 until such time as it takes to complete the survey.
This notice comes into effect on and from the 4th day of June 1999.

The making of this order does not preclude—
(a) The making of a subsequent order later in 1999 closer to the date of the expiration of the present Parliament; or

Securities Amendment Act 1988
The Authorised Futures Dealers Notice (No. 3) 1999
Pursuant to section 38 of the Securities Amendment Act 1988, the Securities Commission gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as The Authorised Futures Dealers Notice (No. 3) 1999.
(2) This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
- Interpretation—(1) In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires:
“the Act” means the Securities Amendment Act 1988;
“overseas bank” means a bank domiciled and subject to prudential supervision by the central banking or other regulatory authority in one or more of the Commonwealth of Australia, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom or the United States of America to carry on banking business in those countries;
“specified futures contracts” means forward interest rate contracts, interest rate swap contracts, forward exchange rate contracts and exchange rate swap contracts.
(2) Any term or expression that is not defined in this notice, but that is defined in the Act, has the meaning given to it by the Act.
- Authorisation—(1) Ord Minnett Fixed Interest Limited is authorised to carry on the business of dealing in specified futures contracts.
(2) The authorisation is subject to the condition that the authorisation applies only in respect of specified futures contracts to which both parties are overseas banks.
(3) This authorisation continues in force until it is revoked by the Commission.

Date for closing of main rolls—The main roll for every general electoral district and for every Maori electoral district closes on 25 June 1999.

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
As part of the roll revision exercise, this order closes, as at 25 June 1999, the main rolls for all electoral districts. This enables the main rolls to be printed and published as at that date. They will then be available to the public for checking.
