Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Flashing or Revolving Red or Blue Lamps for Vehicles Owned by the Friends of the NZ Police Museum Incorporated

Pursuant to regulation 67 (8) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Jörg Simon Mager, Senior Engineer, hereby approve the fitting of one or more flashing or revolving red or blue lamps on motor vehicles of Class NA and all Classes in Groups L and M, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice.

Schedule

Conditions

(i) This approval only applies to vehicles owned by the Friends of the NZ Police Museum Incorporated;

(ii) Subject to (iii) below, any flashing or revolving blue or red lamps must be switched off, and must be covered with opaque covers, while the vehicles are operated on public roads;

(iii) The covers specified in (ii) above may be removed, and the flashing or revolving blue or red lamps may be used, only while the vehicles are operated in parades or exhibitions;

(iv) This approval expires when a vehicle changes ownership;

(v) This approval may be revoked at any time;

(vi) A copy of this notice must be carried in all vehicles to which this exemption applies at all times and must be readily available for inspection.

Exemption from the Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 Relating to Sirens for Vehicles Owned by the Friends of the NZ Police Museum Incorporated

Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Jörg Simon Mager, Senior Engineer, hereby exempt motor vehicles of Class NA and all Classes in Groups L and M from the requirements of regulation 69 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice.

Schedule

Conditions

(i) This exemption only applies to vehicles owned by the Friends of the NZ Police Museum Incorporated;

(ii) Subject to (iii) below, any bell, siren or whistle must not be used while the vehicles are operated on public roads;

(iii) Any bell, siren or whistle may be used only while the vehicles are operated in parades or exhibitions;

(iv) This exemption expires when a vehicle changes ownership;

(v) This exemption may be revoked at any time;

(vi) A copy of this notice must be carried in all vehicles to which this exemption applies at all times and must be readily available for inspection.

Revocation of Gazette Notices

Pursuant to section 70F (1A) of the Transport Act 1962 the Gazette notices specified in the Schedule hereto, are revoked and cease to have effect from 3 May 1999.

Approval of Defensive Driving Organisations

Pursuant to section 48 (2) (a) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, I, Simon Christopher Whiteley, Acting General Manager Policy, approve the following organisations for the purposes of section 92 of the Land Transport Act 1998 and regulations 11 (1) (b) (i) and 32 (2) (c) of the Transport (Drivers Licensing) Regulations 1987:

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, John Richard Wolf, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.
