Schedule1

Conditions

(i) This exemption expires on the day a Land Transport Rule made under the Land Transport Act 1998 covering brakes on motor vehicles of the classes specified above comes into force and the corresponding provisions of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 are amended or revoked so as to no longer cover the vehicle classes concerned;

(ii) Irrespective of (i) above, this exemption expires on 1 January 2006.

Exemption for Motor Vehicles of Class MA From the Requirement of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 Relating to Compliance With an Appropriate Vehicle Standard for Hydraulic Brake Hoses

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Jörg Simon Mager, Senior Engineer Vehicle Policy, hereby exempt motor vehicles of class MA from regulation 13 (7) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1

Conditions

(i) This exemption expires on the day a Land Transport Rule made under the Land Transport Act 1998 covering brakes on motor vehicles of class MA comes into force and the corresponding provisions of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 are amended or revoked so as to no longer cover motor vehicles of class MA;

(ii) Irrespective of (i) above, this exemption expires on 1 January 2006.

Exemption for Certain Classes of Motor Vehicles From the Requirement of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 Relating to Compliance With an Appropriate Vehicle Standard for the Fitting of Lighting and Signalling Equipment

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Jörg Simon Mager, Senior Engineer Vehicle Policy, hereby exempt motor vehicles of all classes in groups M, N and T from regulations 15 (2), 16 (5), 17 (3), 18 (3), 19 (3), 20 (2), 21 (3), 22 (2), 24 and 25 (2) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 in respect of compliance with the vehicle standards for the fitting of lighting and signalling equipment specified in Item 4 of the Second Schedule of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 1 of this notice. For the avoidance of doubt, any motor vehicle that is not equipped with auxiliary headlamps may be equipped with not more than two front fog lamps.

Exemption for Certain Classes of Motor Vehicles From the Requirement of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 Relating to Compliance With an Appropriate Vehicle Standard for Seat Anchorages

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Jörg Simon Mager, Senior Engineer Vehicle Policy, hereby exempt motor vehicles of classes MA, MB and MC from regulation 31 (2) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1

Conditions

(i) This exemption expires on the day a Land Transport Rule made under the Land Transport Act 1998 covering seat anchorages on motor vehicles of the classes specified above comes into force and the corresponding provisions of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 are amended or revoked so as to no longer cover the vehicle classes concerned;

(ii) Irrespective of (i) above, this exemption expires on 1 January 2006.

Exemption for Motor Vehicles of Classes TA and TB From the Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 Relating to Compliance With Appropriate Vehicle Standards for Lighting Equipment

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Jörg Simon Mager, Senior Engineer Vehicle Policy, hereby exempt motor vehicles of classes TA and TB from regulations 16 (5), 17 (3), 18 (3), 20 (2) and 22 (2) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 1.
