(a) is a public broker within the meaning of the rules of the Exchange; and

(b) is bound by the rules of the Exchange; and

that the authorisation applies only in respect of futures contracts made on or effected through the Exchange or a futures exchange in a country other than New Zealand which is authorised by the laws of that country to operate as a futures exchange.

(3) The authorisation granted by subclause (1) shall continue in force until it is revoked by the Commission.

Declaring the Disposition of Land to be Exempt From Section 24 of the Conservation Act 1987

Pursuant to section 24B (4) (b) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation hereby declares that section 24 of the Conservation Act, which deals with the reservation of marginal strips, shall not apply to the disposition of the land in the Schedule hereto.

The land constitutes the Matahina Power Station, an area which is required in connection with electricity works.

Declaration That Land is Held for the Purpose of an Ecological Area

Pursuant to the Conservation Act 1987, and to delegations from the Minister of Conservation and the Director-General of Conservation, the Conservator Otago, hereby declares that the land held for conservation purposes described in the Schedule hereto, shall be held for the purpose of an ecological area.

The particular scientific values for which it is held are:

(i) Its importance as an uninterrupted sequence (now rare or absent on the coast of New Zealand) from tidal eelgrass mudflats, through salt marsh and salt marsh shrubland to adjacent dryland;

(ii) Its values for fish productivity (including shellfish);

(iii) Its indigenous invertebrates; and

(iv) Its use by a significant variety of migratory wading birds.

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes Together With a Declaration That the Area Become a Government Purpose (Wildlife Management) Reserve

Pursuant to section 7 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Conservator, Canterbury, hereby declares that the lands, described in the Schedule hereto are held for conservation purposes, and further, pursuant to section 8 (1a) of that Act, declares that the said lands shall hereafter be set apart as reserves, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977, and classifies the reserves as Government purpose (wildlife management) reserves, subject to the provisions of the latter Act.
