✨ Electoral Boundary Objections
1468 NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 63
40 003 b, h Objection S Russell (See General 002 for details on this objector’s overall strategy for electorate changes).
Objects to the inclusion of Linden in the proposed Mana Electorate on the grounds that their community of interest is with Tawa and because of projected population changes within the region.
Suggested solution To retain the existing boundary between Mana and Ohariu-Belmont.
Objects to the inclusion of Pauatahanui, Endeavour, Resolution and part of Adventure area units in the proposed Mana Electorate because other changes suggested would place too many people in Mana.
Suggested solution Transfer the area units into the proposed Rimutaka Electorate.
41 Rimutaka
41 001 b, h Objection S Russell (See General 002 for details on this objector’s overall strategy for electorate changes).
Objects to the inclusion of part of the suburb of Naenae in the proposed Rimutaka Electorate because of projected population numbers in the area.
Suggested solution Transfer all of the Naenae area east of the railway line from the proposed Rimutaka Electorate into the proposed Hutt South Electorate.
42 Hutt South
42 001 n Objection New Zealand Labour Party
Objects to the proposed electoral name of Hutt South on the grounds that it implies an emphasis on the urban area of Lower Hutt, rather than the greater East-West spread across the southern part of the Hutt Valley of the proposed electorate. The electorate includes areas such as Eastbourne, Petone and Wainuiomata which are geographically separate from Lower Hutt, have strong urban ward boundaries and have an individuality within the electorate.
Suggested solution Rename the proposed electorate Pencarrow, which has historical significance and does not emphasise any particular suburb.
42 002 b, h Objection S Russell (See General 002 for details on this objector’s overall strategy for electorate changes).
Objects to the inclusion of a small part of the Boulcott-Avalon statistical area unit in the proposed Hutt South Electorate because other suggested changes would place too many people in Hutt South.
Suggested solution Transfer that area of land between Fairway Drive and the Hutt Golf Course extension along St Columban’s Grove into the Rimutaka Electorate.
