Electorate with insufficient population and that the transfer of these statistical area units to Wairarapa will enable other suggested changes to the northern boundary of the proposed Tukituki Electorate to be made.

Suggested solution Transfer the Porangahau area unit and part of the Elsthorpe-Flemington area unit to the proposed Wairarapa Electorate.

Objects to the name of the proposed Tukituki Electorate on the grounds that the changes suggested mean that the electorate would include more of Northern Hawke’s Bay.

Suggested solution Change the name of the electorate to Hawke’s Bay.

Objects to the proposed name of the electoral district on the grounds that it does not reflect the name of the regions covered in the electorate.

Suggested solution That the proposed electorate be named Wairarapa/Tararua thus helping make the northern population feel more inclusive in the electorate.

Objects to the inclusion of the Whakarongo, Kelvin Grove, Milson and Cloverlea statistical area units in the proposed Rangitikei Electorate on the grounds of their community of interest with Palmerston North and projected population changes in neighbouring areas.

Suggested solution Transfer the Cloverlea statistical area unit to the proposed Palmerston North Electorate and all other statistical area units to the proposed Otaki Electorate.
