Objects to the inclusion of the Lake Cameron statistical area unit in the proposed Hamilton East Electorate on the grounds of community of interest, topographical features, and facilities of communication with other areas west of the Waikato River.
Suggested solution Transfer this area to a new North Waikato Electorate.

Note The Opotiki District Council has filed an objection with consequential changes for this electorate. Please see Objection 33/009 (Mahia) for details.

Objects to the removal of the southern portion of the Hamilton East Electorate embracing the Ohaupo/Kaipaki area into the proposed Karapiro Electorate. The area in question has had a long and strong community of interest with Hamilton.
Suggested solution Leave the boundary between Hamilton East and Karapiro the same as it is now.

24 003 b,n,h Objection S Russell (See General 002 for details on this objectorβs overall strategy for electorate changes).
Objects to the inclusion of Cambridge, part of the Hautapu statistical area unit and the area south of the Waikato River and Lake Karapiro including Te Awamutu, on the grounds that other proposed changes would make it necessary to add population to neighbouring electorates.
Suggested solution Transfer the town of Cambridge, a number of statistical area units and that area of land south of the Waikato River into the proposed Taupo Electorate. Transfer part of the Hautapu statistical area unit to the proposed Hamilton East Electorate. Transfer the town of Te Awamutu and a number of statistical area units to the proposed Taranaki-King Country Electorate and transfer two statistical area units (Kaipaki and Te Rahu) to a new North Waikato Electorate.
Objects to the inclusion of two further statistical area units (Te Arawa and Ngarua) on the grounds that other proposed changes would make it necessary to add population to the proposed Coromandel Electorate.
Suggested solution Transfer these areas to the proposed Coromandel Electorate.
