Objects to the inclusion of the Franklin District in the proposed Port Waikato Electorate on the grounds of its community of interest with the rest of the Franklin District and the need for a reduction in its population so that it remains within the quota tolerance.

Suggested solution Divide the proposed Port Waikato Electorate in half along the boundary between the Franklin and Waikato Districts. The northern half would become part of a new Franklin Electorate and the southern half would become part of a new North Waikato Electorate including Morrinsville and Matamata.
