Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Qualifications Recognised by the Secretary of Education For the Purpose of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998

Pursuant to regulation 38 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, I hereby amend the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 3rd day of August 1995, No. 75, page 2048.

Where an early childhood centre is a playcentre affiliated to the New Zealand Playcentre Federation and operates under the group supervision collective points system, the Secretary for Education hereby recognises the following certificates awarded by the Playcentre Association.

The Secretary for Education hereby recognises for the purpose of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990:

Nelson Playcentre Association:

Part 1: Understanding Children and Playcentre.

Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice (No. 6) 1998 (No. F105)

Pursuant to section 28W (3) of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Minister for Food, Fibre, Biosecurity and Border Control, after consultation with the New Zealand Fishing Industry Board and the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission and after having regard to the provisions of section 28W (5) of the Fisheries Act 1983, hereby gives the following notice:

Notice

  1. Title and commencement

    (a) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice (No. 6) 1998.
    (b) This notice shall come into effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. Interpretation

    In this notice "Sealord Group" means Te Ika Paewai Limited, Sealord Charters Limited, Sealord Group Limited, and any companies owned or controlled by these companies.

  3. Exemption to quota aggregation limit

    As from the date that this notice comes into effect, the Sealord Group is permitted to hold quota and interest in quota in excess of the aggregation limits as provided in section 28W (1) of the Fisheries Act 1983, for the following species, up to the following limits:

    (a) An aggregation limit of 45 percent of the combined Total Allowable Commercial Catch for each of the following species:

     Alfonsino
     Barracouta
     Blue Warehou
     Gemfish
     Hake
     Hoki
     Jack Mackerel
     Ling
     Orange Roughy
     Oreos
     Packhorse Rock Lobster
     Red Cod
     Silver Warehou
     Squid

    (b) An aggregation limit of 10 percent of the Total Allowable Commercial Catch for spiny rock lobster in any one quota management area

    (c) An aggregation limit of 20 percent of the Total Allowable Commercial Catch for paua in any one quota management area

    (d) An aggregation limit of 20 percent of the combined Total Allowable Commercial Catch for bluenose

    (e) In any other case, 35 percent of the combined Total Allowable Commercial Catch for every stock of that species.

Pursuant to section 28W (3) of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Minister for Food, Fibre, Biosecurity and Border Control, after consultation with the New Zealand Fishing Industry Board and the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission and after having regard to the provisions of section 28W (5) of the Fisheries Act 1983, hereby gives the following notice:

  1. Title and commencement

    (a) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice (No. 7) 1998.
    (b) This notice shall come into effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. Exemption to quota aggregation limit

    As from the date that this notice comes into effect, Te Ohu Kai Moana is permitted to hold quota and interest in quota in excess of the 10 percent aggregation limit for rock lobster in quota management area 2 up to a percentage limit of 10.48 percent as provided in section 28W (1)(b) of the Fisheries Act 1983.
