Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976
Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Victor Ian Everiss, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

Conditions

The vehicles and their operation must comply with the safety plan, dated 14 September 1998, that has been lodged with the LTSAβs Auckland Office. The safety plan is to be revised every six months and the LTSA is to be notified of any changes;
-
Maintenance logs are to be kept for each vehicle and must be signed by the person completing the repairs or routine maintenance. These logs must be presented on demand to any Police Constable or Officer of the LTSA;

The vehicles must only be used during the hours of daylight;
-
The vehicles must not be used when atmospheric conditions do not allow 200 metres of clear visibility;
-
The vehicles must not be driven on a public road for a distance greater than 6 kms, other than 90 Mile Beach;
-
All vehicle operators must wear approved crash helmets;
-
No passengers are to be carried on the vehicles;
-
The vehicles must be licensed and display a current certificate of fitness;
-
This exemption only applies while the vehicles operate under a Rental Service Licence;
-
This exemption may be revoked at any time;
-
A copy of this notice must be kept with each vehicle file at all times and be readily available for inspection.

Approval of Motorcycle Driving School
Pursuant to section 48 (2) (b) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, and under powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety in an instrument of delegation, dated the 23rd day of December 1996, I James William Furneaux, Regional Compliance Officer, hereby approve the following organisation as a school of instruction to conduct motorcycle instruction for the purposes of regulations 27 (1) (c), 30 (5), 32 (2) (a) and (b) of the Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulations 1987:

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Peter Waring, Senior Policy Engineer, hereby exempt the motor vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements contained within regulations 15 (1) (a), 29 (1) (d), (3) and (4) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, subject to the conditions specified within Schedule 2 of this notice.

This exemption may be revoked at any time.
