Water Recreation Regulations 1979

Reserved Area Under the Water Recreation Regulations 1979

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 257A of the Harbours Act 1950 the Minister of Transport in an instrument of delegation dated the 24th day of January 1995 delegated to the Director of Maritime Safety those powers under regulation 18 (1) and (2) of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979.

AND CONSENTED to the Director of Maritime Safety sub-delegating those powers.

AND WHEREAS pursuant to section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime Safety did delegate those powers under regulation 18 (1) and (2) of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979 to me by an instrument of delegation dated 30th January 1995.

THEREFORE, I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Divisional Manager, Maritime Operations, subject to the conditions set forth in the First Schedule hereto, hereby reserve the following area:

Reserved Area

1 kilometre (0.54 nautical mile) radius of the MV Supercat, while it is the support boat for a 2-person submersible submarine Jago operating in the Horomatangi Reef area for the period from 17 to 21 October 1998.

First Schedule

  1. This notice shall not apply to the 2-person submersible submarine Jago.

  2. This notice shall not apply to the authorised water taxi that will be distinguished by GNS decals and flags.

  3. This notice shall not apply to any patrol boat under the control of the Harbourmaster or Deputy Harbourmaster.

  4. A patrol boat under the control of the Harbourmaster or Deputy Harbourmaster must be on the surface of the water in the vicinity of the submarine at all times that the submarine is in use to warn that the area is reserved.

This notice comes into effect on and from the 16th day of October 1998.

Transit New Zealand Act 1989

Amendment to Transit New Zealand Bylaw 1998/16 : Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles on State Highways in Transit New Zealand Regions 13 and 14

Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand hereby amends the above bylaw as follows:

Amendment

  1. This amendment shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In the Third Schedule:

    Line 1 after that is add: (a). After the new clause 7 (a) add:

    (b) At Pukerau from a point (Route Position 842/2.03) measured 100 metres east of its junction with East Street, to a point (Route Position 842/3.37) measured 50 metres west of its junction with West Street; a distance of approximately 1.34 kilometres.

    In clause 10 after that is add: (a). After the new clause 10 (a) add:

    (b) At Roxburgh from a point (Route Position 365/0.87) measured 870 metres south of Slaughterhouse Creek Bridge to a point (Route Position 365/1.97) measured 20 metres north of Edinburgh Street; a distance of 1.1 kilometres.

    (c) At Roxburgh from a point (Route Position 365/3.86) measured 140 metres south of Smith Street to a point (Route Position 370/0.01) measured 1.14 kilometres south of Smith Street; a distance of 1.0 kilometre.

This amendment is made by delegated authority from the Transit New Zealand Authority.
