Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

On 2 October 1998. To Rural Aviation (1963) Limited from the requirement in Part 91, Appendix A, paragraph A.15(a), this being one of the requirements prescribed by Civil Aviation Rule 91.501(2). Only in respect of the ELT installed in aircraft AS 350 B3, Serial Number 3097, Registration ZK-IWI.

Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos are published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL). For the proviso, refer to issue dated 7 October 1998. The CARRIL is available on the CAA website www.caa.govt.nz. Exemption files may also be viewed on prior request to the Registrar at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.

Approval of Defensive Driving Organisation

Pursuant to section 39A of the Transport Act 1962 and section 48 (2) (a) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, I, Alan Woodside, General Manager Policy, approve the following organisation for the purposes of section 68 (1) (b) of the Transport Act 1962 and regulations 11 (1) (b) (i) and 32 (2) (c) of the Transport (Drivers Licensing) Regulations 1987:

Pipfruit Growers New Zealand Incorporated

Commodity Levies (Pipfruit) Order 1996

The Commodity Levies (Pipfruit) Order 1996

The levy rate for the levy year ended 31 October 1999 is 2.0 cents per tray carton equivalent (tce) of pipfruit, plus G.S.T., as passed at PGNZI’s annual general meeting on 10 September 1998. A tce equals 18.8 kg of fruit. There is a minimum levy payable of $150.00 plus G.S.T. and a maximum levy payable of $2,000.00 plus G.S.T.

The levy is calculated on a grower’s total production of pipfruit produced in the 1997/98 year (1 November 1997 to 31 October 1998).

The levy is payable by pipfruit growers who produced 1000 tces or more of apples and/or European pears in the 1997–98 season.

A request for production information will be sent to growers in October and an invoice, based on the information supplied, will be sent in February 1999.

Industry Training Act 1992

Apparel and Textile Industry Training Organisation Incorporated

The Board of the Education and Training Support Agency, pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, hereby gives notice that on Monday, the 21st day of September 1998, the Apparel and Textile Industry Training Organisation Incorporated was granted full recognition as an Industry Training Organisation for the Woolsourcing, Yarn Making, Dyeing and Finishing (bulk products/finished material/garments), Carpets, Knitting (continuous fabric/garments), Apparel Manufacture and Sewn Products Industries for a further period of 5 years with effect from the 21st day of September 1998.

It will set standards on the National Qualifications Framework in the above areas: Levels 1–8.

The ITO shall be required to consult with other interested organisations over the setting of skill standards.
