3.2 Any lure having more than one hook or having a multiple hook, or any fixed assembly of hooks.
3.3 Any hook which has a gape greater than 14mm between the point and the nearest part of the shank.
3.4 Any lure treated with any medicinal or chemical preparation other than a flotation preparation used solely to give buoyancy to an artificial fly.
3.5 Any artificial fly which has lead or other weight incorporated unless the hook used does not exceed 14 mm in length (being the horizontal straight line distance from the rear of the eye, exclusive of the eye, to the rear of the bend) and the gape (being the distance from the point of the hook to the underside of the nearest part of the hook shank above the point) of the hook does not exceed 6 mm.
3.6 Any lead or weight (other than hooks as permitted elsewhere in this notice) attached below or as to hang below any lure or bait.
3.7 Such restrictions in Sections 3.1 to 3.6 should apply notwithstanding any other restrictions, limitation or indulgence or licence granted by this Schedule.
- VESSEL FISHING RESTRICTIONS
4.1 No licence holder shall fish for sports fish from any vessel in that part of the Waikato River between the Arapuni Dam and the upper limits of Lake Karapiro (as shown by the white marker post situated 200 metres below the Huihuitaha Stream mouth) unless that vessel is securely anchored at all material times.
- ARTIFICIAL FLY FISHING ONLY WATERS
5.1 Artificial fly fishing in the Auckland/Waikato Region means to fish for sports fish with fly rod and fly reel and fly line and artificial fly, but with no additional weight to facilitate casting.
5.2 Artificial fly fishing is the only fishing method for sports fish allowed in the following waters and their tributaries:
- Waiora River from its source to the Hunua Falls
- Komata Stream
- Maratoto Stream from its source to the ford of the old Whangamata Track
- Kakahu Stream (north-east of Okoroire)
- Waipapa River upstream from the first waterfall situated approximately 0.5km from Lake Waipapa
- Mangatutu Stream from its source to the Lethbridge Road Bridge
- Puniu River from its source to the Bayley Road Bridge
- Kaniwhaniwha Stream
- Ngakoaohia Stream from its source to the bridge on Pirongia-Kawhia roadway
- Awakino River from its source to the Mahoenui Bridge
- Waipa Stream (near Putaruru, also known as the Little Waipa Stream) from its source to the Horahora Road Bridge (which is deemed to be the mouth)
- Waione Stream
- Okauaka Stream
- SPIN FISHING AND ARTIFICIAL FLY FISHING ONLY WATERS
Spin fishing and artificial fly fishing are the only fishing methods for sports fish allowed in the following waters:
- Mangatangi Reservoir
- Mangatawhiri Reservoir
- All rivers and streams, excluding any waters specified in Sections 5, 7 and 8 of this Schedule.
- SPIN FISHING, ARTIFICIAL FLY FISHING AND BAIT FISHING ONLY WATERS
Spin fishing, artificial fly fishing and bait fishing are the only fishing methods for sports fish allowed in the following waters:
- Waikato River
- Lake Arapuni
- Lake Karapiro
- Lake Waipapa
- Lake Tomarata
- Lake Moananui
- Lake Ototoa
- Lake Whatihua (Thomsons)
- Lake Otaimatearoa (Muirs)
- Lake Parkinson
- Waipa River downstream from Toa Bridge (some 16km upstream from Otorohanga)
- Marokopa River downstream from its confluence with the Mangatuhua Stream
- Ohinemuri River downstream from the Victoria Street Bridge at Waihi
- Waihou River downstream from the Okoroire Falls
