7. USE OF BOATS

Anglers trolling from boats must stay at least 50 metres from any anglers fishing from the shore.

8. DAILY BAG LIMITS

No Licence holder shall on any one day kill more than five sportsfish

9. FISH LENGTH

9.1 The minimum length for trout

300 mm

9.2 The minimum length for other sportsfish

No limit

Maratoto Stream, from the ford on the old Whangamata Track (also known locally as the 'Wires Track') near the junction with the Hamuti Stream to its confluence with the Waihou River all year
Ohinemuri River, from the concrete bridge (known as the Victoria Street Bridge, at Waihi) to its confluence with the Waikato River all year
Waitawheta Stream, from the upstream end of the public vehicle access on Franklin Road (as shown by a signpost) to its confluence with the Ohinemuri River all year
Waikato River all year
Waipa River downstream from Toa Bridge (some 16km upstream from Otorohanga) to its confluence with the Waikato River all year
Puniu River downstream from the Seafund Road bridge to its confluence with the Waipa River all year
Mangawhio River between the Waikato River and the Falls all year
Marokopa River from its junction with the Mangatuhua Stream to its mouth all year
Mangaotaki River, from the lower bridge (as shown by a signpost on the Mangaotaki Road (Pio Pio)) to its confluence with the Mokau River all year
Whanganui River, downstream from its confluence with the Whakapapa River all year
All other open waters, except those specified in Section 2.1 of this Schedule 1 October–30 June (inclusive)

2. CLOSED WATERS

Subject to Section 2.2. of this Schedule

2.1

No licence holder shall take sports fish from the following waters:
All rivers, streams and their tributaries which flow into but not including Lake Arapuni, Lake Waipapa, Lake Karapiro and that part of the Waikato River downstream from the Maraetai Dam to above the Karapiro Dam.

2.2

The closed waters restrictions in Section 2.1 of this Schedule do not apply to the following waters:
Waipapa River and tributaries
Mangawhio Stream and tributaries
Waipa Stream and tributaries
Pokaiwhenua Stream and tributaries
Waikato River

3. AUTHORISED TACKLE

No licence holder when fishing for sports fish in the Auckland/Waikato Fish & Game Region shall use:
