Exemptions and Conditions:
- (i) TR 59 (3) (a) forward facing lamps, exempt the height restriction only;
(ii) TR 60 (2) (a) rearward facing lamps, exempt the height restriction only;
(iii) TR 61 (2) (a) stop lamps, exempt the height restriction only;
(iv) TR 62 registration plate illumination lamp and rear reflectors, exempt the height restriction only;
(v) TR 63 (2) (a) direction indicator lamps, exempt the height restriction only;
(vi) TR 65 auxiliary lamps, the fitting of auxiliary white working lights to the rear of these vehicles is conditional on these lights only being used when the vehicles are not operating on a road;
(vii) TR 76 mudguards, mudguards covering the full width of the wheel and a minimum of one quarter of that wheel’s circumference are fitted to all the vehicle’s wheels;
- These exemptions may be revoked at any time.

Pursuant to section 52 (3) of the Transport Act 1962, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads and Rail, give the following notice:

(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Dunedin City) Notice 1998.
(2) The Second Schedule of the Traffic (Port Chalmers Borough) Notice No. 1, 1983* is revoked.
(3) That part of the following notice relating to the road in the Schedule below is revoked:

Maritime Transport Act 1994
Notice of Exemption From Rule 31A.4
I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, pursuant to section 47 (2) (b) (i) and (ii), and section 47 (3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, hereby give notice as follows:
The owner and master of the MV Straitsman are exempt from the requirement in rule 31A.4 of Part 31A of the maritime rules in respect of the master of that ship having less than 6 hours continuous rest in any 24 hour period, on condition that the master’s hours of work, hours of rest and roster periods include the following elements—
(i) the master has not less than 100 hours of rest during the 7 days rostered on board; and
(ii) the master has one 5 hour period of continuous rest in every 24 hours; and
(iii) the master is rostered off for 7 days following the 7 days rostered on board.
