Public Works Act 1981

Notice of Intention to Take an Easement for the Transmission of Electricity From Bombay to Pukekohe in Franklin District

Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1981, to take, on behalf of Counties Power Limited, an easement over the land described in the Schedule, which is required for the transmission of electricity and to permit the upgrading of the existing Bombay to Pukekohe transmission lines to 110 kV.

The taking is considered reasonably necessary as the existing 33 kV lines are no longer sufficient to meet increasing demand for power and must be upgraded to conduct 110 kV. The easement is necessary because the statutory protection to the existing lines will not extend to an upgrading.

Any person, having an estate or interest in the land may within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice, send an objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Department for Courts, Private Bag, Postal Centre, Wellington.

If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
