Exempted Requirements

Traffic Regulations 1976: Regulation 78 (1) (a) and (b)

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990: Regulation 29 (1) (a), (c) and (3)

Schedule 3

Conditions

(i) Approved two-point lap seat belts are fitted in all seating positions;

(ii) All seat belts must be in sound condition and good working order and must not be modified in any way;

(iii) All seat belts must be securely anchored to the vehicle and seat belt anchorages that are not the vehicle manufacturer’s original equipment must comply with Specification St 120395;

(iv) This exemption may be revoked at any time;

(v) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and must be readily available for inspection.

Invercargill Reserves Rural Fire District Abolition Notice 1998

Pursuant to section 4 (4) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.

N o t i c e

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice shall be cited as the Invercargill Reserves Rural Fire District Abolition Notice 1998; and

(2) This notice shall come into force 28 days after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Abolition of rural fire district—The Invercargill Reserves Rural Fire District is hereby abolished.

Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1998

Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.

N o t i c e

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice shall be cited as the Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1998.

(2) The Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1995 and all amendments (a) are hereby revoked.

(3) This notice shall come into force 28 days after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires, the

“Act” means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977; the

“committee” means the Eastland Rural Fire Committee;

“district” means the Eastland Rural Fire District and the

“notice” means the Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1998.

Constitution of the Rural Fire District

  1. (1) The areas set out in the Schedule to this notice are hereby constituted and declared to be the district.

(2) For the purposes of the Act the district shall be administered by the committee.

(3) The committee shall consist of six members as follows:

(a) One person appointed by Hikurangi Forest Farms Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;

(b) One person appointed by Juken Nissho Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;

(c) One person appointed by P F Olsen and Company Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;

(d) One person appointed by Rayonier New Zealand Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;

(e) One person appointed by Han Rakau Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by one director and secretary thereof;

(f) One person appointed by The Gisborne District Council, in writing, signed on behalf of that council by the chief executive and secretary thereof;

(4) The members shall comply with the Eastland Rural Fire District “Policy Issues and Statements” as may be determined from time to time by the committee.

(5) The area set out in the Schedule to the notice does not include any “fire district” as that term is defined in section 2 of the Fire Service Act 1975.

(6) The period between the first day of October in any year and the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby declared to be a restricted fire season in the district.

Schedule

Gisborne Land District—Gisborne, Wairoa and Opotiki Districts—Eastland Rural Fire District

  1. All those parcels containing 118 000 hectares, more or less, as shown on S.O. Plan 8772, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Gisborne.

  2. All those parcels containing 28 540 hectares, more or less, as shown on S.O. Plan 8773, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Gisborne but excluding blocks A, B, L and M.

  3. All those parcels containing 4670 hectares, more or less, as shown on S.O. Plan 8859, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Gisborne.

  4. All those parcels containing 9641 hectares, more or less, as shown on S.O. Plan 8803, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Gisborne.

  5. All those parcels containing 13 850 hectares, more or less, being the land edged green on a copy of S.O. Plan 8494, Gisborne Land District and being Lots 4, 5 and 6, D.P. 3239, Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, D.P. 3240, Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10, D.P. 4932, Lots 1 and 4, D.P. 4933, Lot 1, D.P. 6482, Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 7861, Lot 1, D.P. 7862, Lots 1, 2 and 3, D.P. 7913, Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, D.P. 7916, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, D.P. 7960, Lots 1, 3 and 4, D.P. 8030.
