Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation
Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Docket 98/EXE/113 – CAR 91.Appendix A15 (j) (2)
On 15 July. To Air Nelson Limited, for Fairchild Metroliner and Saab 340 type aircraft, from the requirement in Part 91 Appendix A Paragraph 15 (j) (2) that each Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) required to be installed in each aircraft by Civil Aviation Rule 91.529, shall be replaced with an ELT meeting the requirements of TSO C91a when the ELT becomes unserviceable, this being one of the requirements prescribed by Civil Aviation Rule 91.501 (1) and (2).

Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos are published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Leaflet (CARRIL), issue dated 16 July 1998. The CARRIL is available on the CAA website www.caa.govt.nz. Exemption files may also be viewed on prior request to the Registrar at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority, 1 Market Grove, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt.

Land Transport Safety Authority
Traffic Regulations 1976
Instrument of Prescription
Pursuant to regulation 85 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and section 77 (ff) of the Transport Act 1962, the General Manager, Operations of the Land Transport Safety Authority, prescribes the warrant of fitness label to be in the form shown in the Schedule.
The label number and exact shade of colour may vary from that shown, and for any warrant of fitness issued for a year other than that shown in the diagram, the appropriate year shall appear in place of that shown.
This form of warrant of fitness may be used for 12-month and 6-month warrants of fitness issued under regulation 84 of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
The form of warrant of fitness prescribed by the Deputy Secretary for Transport on 1 December 1985 remains valid up to and including July 1999.

Exemption From Specified Seat Belt Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, John Richard Wolf, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.
The notice in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 48, of 2 April 1998, page 1107, titled “Exemption From Specified Seat Belt Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990” and referenced as “Notice No. 2075” is hereby revoked.
