Notice of Variation of an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 87Q (4) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, I give notice that, having received an application from Ansett International Limited of Melbourne, Australia, I have varied the international air service licence held by that airline to grant it the right to carry on services by way of code-sharing on the services of any other international airline which has the appropriate traffic rights, with effect from the date of this notice.

Notice of Intention to Consider Varying an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 87J (3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, I give notice that, having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport intends to consider varying the international air service licence held by that airline to, in respect of rights beyond Australia, increase the airline’s entitlement from the equivalent of 11.5 B747 services per week to the equivalent of 12 B747 services per week.

Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this proposal must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington, on or before 20 February 1997.

Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Brake Testing Instrument

Pursuant to regulation 88 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Peter Nicholas Rendall, Senior Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby approve, for the purposes of regulation 68 (5) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, the brake testing machine of the type described in Schedule 1 of this notice, subject to the conditions of approval set out in Schedule 2 of this notice.

Schedule 1

Make and Type of Machine

BM Autoteknik Portable Truck Brake Tester, Model No. BM 20200, manufactured by BM Autoteknik Moldrup APs, Denmark.

Schedule 2

Conditions of Approval

  1. The supplier shall provide a quality controlled calibration and repair service that is readily available to the users of this machine.

  2. Access to the machine is to be provided as required, for any person so authorised by the Director of the Land Transport Safety Authority, for the purpose of checking the accuracy of the machine.

Transport Act 1962

Approval of Child Restraints for Use in Motor Vehicles

Pursuant to section 77B of the Transport Act, and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety by an instrument of delegation dated 13 May 1996, I, John Andrew Justice, Manager Safer Vehicles, hereby approve child restraints described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of section 77C of the Transport Act and for the purposes of regulations 30 and 30A of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

Schedule

Child restraints that:

(1) comply with AS/NZS 1754:1991 or AS/NZS 1754:1995, and are labelled or otherwise marked in accordance with the requirements of the respective Standard; and

(2) are manufactured under a certification mark license issued by Standards Australia or Standards New Zealand.
