Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles on State Highways
Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand hereby makes the following bylaw:

Title and Commencement—This bylaw may be cited as the Transit New Zealand (speed of vehicles on State Highways) Bylaw 1997/13 and shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Interpretation—In this bylaw: “Vehicle” has the same meaning as in the Transport Act 1962.

Limiting speed of vehicles on State highways—No person shall drive or take or permit to be driven or take any vehicle:
(a) At a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule to this bylaw; or
(b) At a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Second Schedule to this bylaw.
First Schedule
That section of State Highway No. 1 that is:
(a) In Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Rotokauri Road and State Highway 1 (at Route Position 442/15.59), proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to a point (at Route Position 459/0.82) located 160 metres south of Killarney Road; a distance of approximately 3.69 kilometres.
(b) In Hamilton City, commencing at a point 50 metres north of Kahikatea Drive (at Route Position 459/1.75), proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (at Route Position 462/0.59) located 60 metres north-east of the intersection of Lorne Street and Normandy Avenue; a distance of approximately 2.52 kilometres.
(c) In Hamilton City, commencing at a point (at Route Position 463/2.41) 200 metres west of Howell Avenue, proceeding in a generally easterly direction to the intersection of Riverlea Road and State Highway 1 (at Route Position 467/0.55); a distance of approximately 1.52 kilometres.
- That section of State Highway No. 3 that is:
(a) In Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Kahikatea Drive and State Highway 3 (at Route Position 0/0.0), proceeding in a generally southerly direction to the intersection of Resthill Crescent and State Highway 3 (at Route Position 0/2.17); a distance of approximately 2.17 kilometres.
(b) In Hamilton City, the On-Ramp on Normandy Avenue, commencing at the intersection of Lorne Street and State Highway 3 On-Ramp (at Route Position 0/0.0), proceeding in a generally southerly direction to the intersection of Ohaupo Road and State Highway 3 On-Ramp (at Route Position 0/0.68); a distance of approximately 680 metres.
- **That section of State Highway No. 26 that is in Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Cambridge Road and State Highway 26 (at Route Position 0/0.0), proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (at Route Position 0/0.73) located 290 metres north-east of Berkley Avenue; a distance of approximately 730 metres.
Second Schedule
The section of State Highway No. 1 that is:
(a) In Hamilton City, commencing at a point (at Route Position 459/0.82), 160 metres south of Killarney Road, proceeding in a southerly direction to a point (at Route Position 459/1.75) located 50 metres north of Kahikatea Drive; a distance of approximately 930 metres.
(b) In Hamilton City, commencing at a point (at Route Position 462/0.59) 60 metres north-east of Lorne Street and Normandy Avenue intersection, proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (at Route Position 463/2.41) located 200 metres west of Howell Avenue; a distance of approximately 2.77 kilometres.
- That section of State Highway No. 26 that is in Hamilton City, commencing at a point (at Route Position 0/0.73) 290 metres north-east of Berkley Avenue, proceeding in a north-easterly direction to a point (at Route Position 0/3.41) located 140 metres north-east of Ruakura Station Road; a distance of approximately 2.68 kilometres.
