Declaring the Disposition of a Leasehold Interest in Land to be Exempt From Section 24 of the Conservation Act 1987

Pursuant to sections 24B (4) (b) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation, hereby declares that section 24 of the Conservation Act, which deals with the reservation of marginal strips, shall not apply to the disposition by lease of the land in the Schedules hereto.

The land constitutes the Meremere Power Station and an area held for future development, all of which is to be leased to the Electricity Corporation of New Zealand Limited and is required in connection with electricity works.

Reserves Act 1977

Change of Classification of Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Northland Conservancy, Department of Conservation, hereby changes the classification of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a recreation reserve to a local purpose (marae complex) reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.
