2. Open Season for Trout and Perch

Little Wanganui River, downstream of the S/H No. 67 bridge all year
Mokihinui River, downstream from the cableway at Welcome Creek all year

Nile River, downstream of Awakere confluence all year
Grey River, downstream of Clarke confluence all year
Lake Brunner (Note clause 3) all year
Arnold River all year
New River Estuary downstream of S/H 6 all year

2.2 Open season for salmon

3. Closed Waters

In lakes Brunner, Mapourika, Paringa and Moeraki fishing is not permitted within 100 metres of any inflowing tributary between 1 April and 30 September.

4. Authorised Tackle

4.1 No licenseholder when fishing for sportsfish in the waters of lakes Mapourika, Paringa, Moeraki or Ellery shall use any lure having attached to it more than one hook or a hook which is not single pointed or barbed.

5. Fly Fishing Only Waters

No Restrictions

6. Bait Fishing Waters

No restrictions

7. Use of Boats

No restrictions

The minimum length for trout and salmon shall be:

In this notice

“Fly Fishing” in the Central South Island Region means to fish for sportsfish with fly rod and fly reel and fly.
