Notification of Amendment to Material Incorporated by Reference

Pursuant to section 32 (2A) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, I, Kevin William Ward, Director of Civil Aviation, hereby give notice that the Technical Instructions, which is material that has been incorporated by reference into the Civil Aviation Rules, will be amended by including in it Addendum dated 11 August 1997 to the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284–AN/905; 1997-1998) and that this amendment shall take effect from 4 September 1997.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Schedule

Nature of exemptions granted:

Docket 98/EXE/8, to Mr J. M. Marshall on the 11th day of July 1997. From the requirements contained in Appendix A of Part 146 regarding the qualifications and experience required for, and the privileges and limitations associated with, the grant of a delegation, in accordance with section 23B of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, for the approval of design changes.

The grant of, or denial of exemptions is also published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL), as a 6-weekly publication of the Civil Aviation Authority. Exemption Docket files may be viewed on prior request to the Registrar at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority at 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, John Richard Wolf, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

(iii) This exemption may be revoked at any time;

(iv) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and be readily available for inspection.

Alternative Standard for High-Mounted Stop Lamps

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, John Andrew Justice, Senior Engineer, hereby prescribe the standard specified in the Schedule to this notice as an alternative standard for the purposes of regulation 19 and item 9 of the Second Schedule of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990.

Alternative Standard for High-Mounted Stop Lamps

United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Regulation No. 7, uniform provisions concerning the approval of front and rear position (side) lamps, stop-lamps and end-outline marker lamps for motor vehicles (except motor cycles) and their trailers (E/ECE324-E/ECE/TRANS/505/Add.6).
