Fisheries Act 1996

The Fisheries (Southern Blue Whiting Commercial Catch Limit) Notice 1997 (No. F66)

Pursuant to section 11 (4) (a) of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries, hereby makes the following notice:

Notice

1. Title and commencement—
   (a) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Southern Blue Whiting Commercial Catch Limit) Notice 1997.
   (b) This notice shall come into effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Interpretation—In this notice:
   (a) any reference to the Quota Management Area 6 means the Quota Management Area 6 as defined in the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986.
   (b) Bounty Platform means all that area within Quota Management Area 6 east of 176° E;
   (c) Pukaki Rise means all that area within Quota Management Area 6 west of 176° E, excluding an area whose northern boundary runs along a line at 50° 30.0′ S, and where that area’s western boundary lies at 168° 30.0′ E;
   (d) Campbell Island Rise means all that area within Quota Management Area 6 south of a line at 50° 30.0′ S, such a line extending:
   (i) in the west to 168° 30′ E, and hence by a line due south at that point; and
   (ii) in the east to 176°, and hence by a line due south at that point.
   (e) SBW means southern blue whiting as defined in Part 11 of the Second Schedule to the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 1990.

3. Commercial catch limit—As from the date this notice comes into effect, the following commercial catch limits for SBW apply:

Health Reforms (Transitional Provisions) Act 1993

Appointment of Directors of Residual Health Management Unit

Pursuant to section 18 (2) of the Health Reforms (Transitional Provisions) Act 1993, and in accordance with clause 3 of the Second Schedule to the Health and Disability Services Act 1993, I re-appoint each of the following persons as a director of the Board of the Residual Health Management Unit for the term specified for that person on the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice. Pursuant to clause 2 (1) of the Second Schedule to the Health and Disability Services Act 1993, I appoint Ian Miller as chairperson of the Board of the Residual Health Management Unit, commencing on the 1st day of September 1997 and expiring on 1 November 1997.
