Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Approval of Alternative Seatbelt Standard

Pursuant to regulation 6 (1) of The Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Michael Joseph Small, Senior Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby approve for the purposes of regulation 29 (2) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, the seatbelt standard described in Schedule 1 of this notice, subject to the conditions of approval set out in Schedule 2 of this notice.

Schedule 1

Approved Alternative Standard:
Seatbelts that comply with South African Bureau of Standards, SABS 1080 - 1983, and any subsequent amendments.

Schedule 2

Conditions of Approval:

1. Seatbelts that comply with SABS 1080-1983 and are labelled or otherwise marked in accordance with that standard.

2. The seatbelt manufacturer must be approved by SABS to apply the SABS standard marking on every seatbelt which claims compliance with SABS 1080-1983.

3. The SABS standard marking must be either:

4. The Manager of Safer Vehicles reserves the right to revoke this exemption.

Fire Service Act 1975

South Otago Fire Districts Notice, August 1996

Pursuant to section 26 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the South Otago Fire Districts Notice, August 1996.

2. This notice shall come into force on the 20th day of August 1996.

3. This notice revokes and is in substitution for all previous fire district notices for the districts listed in the Schedule.

Constitution of Fire Districts

4. The urban areas of the towns listed in the Schedule are hereby constituted as fire districts.

5. The boundary of the constituted fire districts are defined on plans held at the National Office, New Zealand Fire Service, Wellington.

The Authorised Life Insurance Companies Notice (No. 6) 1996

Pursuant to the Securities Act 1978, the Securities Commission gives the following notice:

Notice

1. Title and commencement and expiry—(1) This notice may be cited as the Authorised Life Insurance Companies Notice (No. 6) 1996.

   (2) This notice shall come into force on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

   (3) This notice shall expire with the close of the 31st day of July 1997.

2. Interpretation—(1) In this notice “the Act” means the Securities Act 1978.

   (2) Any term or expression which is not defined in this notice, but which is defined in the Act, shall have the meaning given to it by the Act.

3. Authorised life insurance companies—Each life insurance company named in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be an authorised life insurance company for the purposes of the Act in respect of all life insurance policies issued by that company.
