of the powers delegated to the Secretary for Transport by the Minister of Transport in an instrument of delegation dated the 31st day of August 1990, I Grant Stewart Ellis Milne, Secretary for Transport, give the following notice:

Notice

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Whangarei District) Notice No. 1, 1996.

The area specified in the First Schedule is declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962.

Pursuant to section 52 (2) of the Transport Act 1962, the roads specified in the Second Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962.

The road specified in the Third Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometre an hour speed limit area, pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The Traffic (Hikurangi Town District and Whangarei County) Notice No. 1, 1985, signed at Wellington on the 11th day of February 1985*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, is revoked.

First Schedule

SITUATED within Whangarei District at Hikurangi:

All that area with the exception of the roads mentioned in the Second Schedule bounded by a line commencing on the western side of State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) at a point 500 metres measured northerly, generally, from Gilby Avenue, thence due west by a straight line 1200 metres, thence due south by a straight line to a point due west of a point 300 metres measured southerly, generally, along State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) from George Street, thence due east by a straight line 1800 metres, thence northerly, generally, by a straight line to a point on the southern side of Valley Road 1000 metres measured north easterly, generally, from King Street, thence across Valley Road by a straight line to its northern side thence north westerly, generally, by a straight line to a point on the eastern side of State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) opposite the commencing point, thence westerly, generally, by a straight line, to the commencing point.

Second Schedule

SITUATED within Whangarei District at Hikurangi:

State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): that portion of the said State highway bounded by and within the area described in the First Schedule.

Boundary Road: that portion from a point 400 metres measured northerly, generally, from View Road to Carter Road.

Carter Road.

Jordan Valley Road.

Mountain View Road: that portion from a point 400 metres measured westerly, generally, from View Road along Mountain View Road to the western termination of Mountain View Road.

Third Schedule

SITUATED within Whangarei District at Solomons Point:

Whangarei Heads Road: that portion from a point 1250 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along Whangarei Heads Road from Crisp Road to a point 250 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along Whangarei Heads Road from Crisp Road.

Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986

Notification of Theoretical Questions for Driver Licence Tests

Pursuant to section 48 (1A) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, I, Leonard William Robertson, Manager Education and Information, Safer People and Operators, hereby prescribe the questions contained within the publications listed in the Schedule hereto, as the theoretical examinations to be undergone by applicants for the classes of licence specified under Part I of the Second Schedule of the Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulations 1987.

Schedule

"The Licence Guide" – for classes A, AM, B. First published by GP Publications Limited 1990, as amended March 1996;

"The Licence Guide" – for classes C, D, E, N. First published by GP Publications Limited 1989, as amended March 1996;

This notice takes effect from 1 April 1996.

Copies of the publications are available from most booksellers. For further details contact the Education and Information section of the Land Transport Safety Authority, P.O. Box 2840, Wellington.

Previous editions will cease to be authorised for the purposes of the Transport (Driver Licensing Regulations 1987) from 1 June 1996.
