Naming of a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Northland Conservancy, Department of Conservation, hereby declares that the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, shall hereafter be known as Otakairangi Swamp Wildlife Reserve.

266.2883 hectares, more or less, being Lot 1, D.P. 110660 and Section 1, S.O. 67817, situated in Block XIV, Hukerenui Survey District. All New Zealand Gazette, 1994, page 2354 and 1995, page 2057.

Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, on the recommendation of the Maori Land Court, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of recreation, landing reserve and access, to be known as Henare Eru Paparoa for the common use and benefit of descendants of Henare Eru Paparoa.

Pursuant to section 338 (1) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Maori Land Court, the general land described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of preserving Toka A Kuku Pa site as a place of historical interest for the common use and benefit of Paratene Paora.
