Transit New Zealand Act 1989

Revoking Section of State Highway – State Highway No. 2 and Declaring New Section of State Highway – State Highway No. 1, Wellington

Pursuant to section 60 of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, The Transit New Zealand Authority gives notice that the section of State Highway No. 2 described in the First Schedule hereto, is revoked and the section of State highway described in the Second Schedule hereto, is declared to be State Highway No. 1 within the meaning and for the purpose of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989.

First Schedule

State Highway No. 2 at Wellington commencing at its junction with State Highway No. 1 at Ngauranga, thence along all lanes of the Wellington Urban Motorway, through The Terrace Tunnel, to its southern end at Willis Street and its southern commencement at the intersection of Vivian and Willis Streets.

Second Schedule

At Wellington on the Wellington Urban Motorway, north bound and south bound, commencing at the Aotea on and off ramps on the Thorndon Overbridge and proceeding in a southerly direction through The Terrace Tunnel and dividing:

Southbound: Via the off ramp to Willis Street, then east along the full length of Ghuznee Street, then south along Taranaki Street to Vivian Street, then east along Vivian Street to Kent Terrace and south along Kent Terrace to its end at the Basin Reserve.

Northbound: From the intersection of Buckle and Sussex Streets, west along Buckle Street to Taranaki Street, then north along Taranaki Street to Vivian Street, and west along Vivian Street to Willis Street joining the north bound on ramp to The Terrace Tunnel.

Conservation

Reserves Act 1977

Revocation of Reservation

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Nelson/Marlborough Regional Conservator of the Department of Conservation, hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto, and further declares that the said land may be disposed of by The Marlborough District Council at current market value, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid into the council’s reserve account, such money to be used and applied in or toward the improvement of other reserves under the control of the council, or in or towards the purchase of other lands for reserves.

Schedule

4833 square metres, more or less, being Section 32, Block IV, Taylor Pass Survey District. Balance certificate of title 51/152.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Acting Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby revokes the reservation as a railway conservation reserve over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Canterbury Land District—Ashburton District

1.8618 hectares, being part Reserve 1923; shown marked “A” on S.O. Plan 19167, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch.
