Temporary Exemption From Glazing Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicles Standards) Regulations 1990, I, John Andrew Justice, Manager Safer Vehicles, hereby exempt the vehicles listed in the first column of the Schedule to this exemption notice from compliance with the requirements of regulations 11, 26 (1) and 26 (5) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 insofar as regulations 11, 26 (1) and 26 (5) require the glazing specified in respect of each such class of vehicle in the second column of the Schedule to allow any rate of light transmittance for that glazing in the second column of the Schedule provided:

(a) that glazing is made of approved safety glass; and

(b) the conditions specified in respect of the relative class of vehicle in the third column of the Schedule are satisfied.

Schedule

This exemption will be revoked when the Land Transport Safety Authority’s Glazing Rule becomes effective on the 1 January 1997.

The Authorised Life Insurance Companies Notice (No. 7) 1996

Pursuant to the Securities Act 1978, the Securities Commission gives the following notice:

Notice

1. Title and commencement and expiry—(1) This notice may be cited as the Authorised Life Insurance Companies Notice (No. 7) 1996.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of November 1996.

(3) This notice shall expire with the close of the 31st day of October 1997.

2. Interpretation—(1) In this notice, “the Act” means the Securities Act 1978.

(2) Any term or expression which is not defined in this notice, but which is defined in the Act, shall have the meaning given to it by the Act.

3. Authorised life insurance companies—Each life insurance company named in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be an authorised life insurance company for the purposes of the Act in respect of all life insurance policies issued by the company other than any class of life insurance policy offered to the public for subscription by the company (acting in reliance on section 2 (a) of the Securities Amendment Act 1996) in accordance with the Securities Act 1978 as amended by the Securities Amendment Act 1996.

Notice of Publication of Annual Report—Transport Accident Investigation Commission

Pursuant to section 44A (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Transport declares that the annual report of the Transport Accident Investigation Commission for the year ending 30 June 1996 was returned by the Audit Office to the Transport Accident Investigation Commission on Thursday, 10 October 1996 and was published on Thursday, 31 October 1996.
