Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements contained within regulation 78 (1) (a) and (b) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, subject to the conditions specified within Schedule 2 of this notice.

Temporary Exemption From the Glazing Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976
Pursuant to regulation 90 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, John Andrew Justice, Manager Safer Vehicles, hereby exempt the vehicle classes listed in the first column of the Schedule to this exemption notice from compliance with the requirements of regulation 73 (5) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 insofar as regulation 73 (5) requires the glazing specified in respect of each such class of vehicle in the second column of the Schedule to allow any rate of light transmittance for that glazing in the second column of the Schedule provided:
(a) that glazing is made of approved safety glass; and
(b) the conditions specified in respect of the relative class of vehicle in the third column of the Schedule are satisfied.

This exemption will be revoked when the Land Transport Safety Authority’s Glazing Rule becomes effective on the 1 January 1997.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Peter Nicholas Rendall, Senior Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements contained within regulations 29 (1) (a), (3) and (4) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, subject to the conditions specified within Schedule 2 of this notice.
