Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988
Termination of Subsidy Investigation: Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce From Italy
Notice is hereby given that, acting pursuant to section 11 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), I have terminated a subsidy investigation in respect of baked beans in tomato sauce in retail sized cans exported from Italy (hereinafter referred to as “the subject goods”), as described in the Notice of Initiation of Dumping Investigation of 1 March 1996, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 7 March 1996, page 719), and imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand.
The reason that I have terminated the investigation is because I am satisfied under section 11 (1) (b) of the Act that, as a result of investigations carried out, there is insufficient evidence that material injury to a New Zealand industry has been or is being caused or is threatened by means of the subsidisation of the goods.
Dated at Wellington this 28th day of August 1996.
JOHN LUXTON, Minister of Commerce.
A copy of the non-confidential version of the Final Report, which contains details of the investigation and the conclusions reached, is available from the Manager, Trade Remedies Group, Ministry of Commerce, P.O. Box 1473, Wellington.

Notice of Initiation of a Duty Reassessment for Canned Peaches From South Africa
Pursuant to section 14 (6) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), and under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, I hereby give notice that I have initiated a reassessment of the amount of anti-dumping duty in respect of imports into New Zealand of the goods described in the Schedule imported from South Africa.
Anti-dumping duty was imposed on canned peaches (halves, slices or pieces) packed in various concentrations of sugar syrup and in can sizes ranging from 110 grams to 3 kilograms (A10) in a notice dated 2 August 1996 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 8 August 1996.
The purpose of the reassessment is to ensure that any changes in the elements of normal value and export price of these goods which may have occurred, are incorporated into the current anti-dumping remedy.
Schedule
Goods Subject to Investigation
