5.3 In all other waters no licence holder shall on any day kill or have in possession more than two (2) sports fish.

5.4 No licence holder shall on any day take or be in possession of more than two (2) Quinnat Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha).

5.5 It shall be permissible to make up the difference between a lesser limit bag prescribed in one place and a higher limit bag prescribed in another place.

5.6 No licence holder shall continue to fish for a particular species of sports fish on any day on which he/she has already taken and killed the limit bag of that species.

  1. Minimum Size
    There is no minimum size limit for trout or salmon taken in the Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game region.

  2. Application
    This Notice shall apply to all fresh water courses, ponds, lakes and rivers of all sizes and descriptions within the Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game Region and the words “water” and “waters” shall have a corresponding meaning.

NORTH CANTERBURY FISH AND GAME REGION

1. Interpretation

The North Canterbury Fish and Game Region is divided into two zones:

Eastern Zone: The area to the east of a line extending from the white post on the south bank of the Rakaia River opposite the Coleridge Power Station, to the white posts at Woodstock on the Waimakariri River, to the Oxford-Glentui Road bridge on the Ashley River, to the junction of the Hurunui River with the South Branch, to the junction of the Waiau and Hope rivers.

Western Zone: The area to the west of the Eastern Zone plus Lake Rubicon.

“Natural Bait” within the North Canterbury Fish and Game Region, includes natural fly, natural insect, natural worm, natural crustacea, natural minnow, natural fish (excluding fish ova or any portion of a fish or shellfish [mollusca]) and uncoloured bread dough.
