Notice of Approval of a Statement of Preferred Work Practices Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Pursuant to section 20 (3) of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, and whereas subsections (3) (a) and (3) (b) of section 20 of that Act have been fulfilled and complied with, the Minister of Labour hereby give notice that he approves a statement of preferred work practices which is an Approved Code of Practice for The Safe Erection and Use of Scaffolding.

Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Brake Testing Instrument

Pursuant to regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, John Andrew Justice, Manager Compliance, hereby approve, for the purposes of regulation 68 (5) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, the brake testing instrument of the make and type described in Schedule 1 of this notice, subject to the conditions of approval set out in Schedule 2 of this notice.

Make and Type of Instrument

MAHA Platform Brake Tester Model Junior-Check 2P, manufactured by MHB Maschinenbau Haldenwang GmbH & Co of Germany.

Schedule 2

Conditions of Approval

(1) The supplier shall provide a calibration and repair service that is readily available to the users of this brake testing instrument.

(2) Access to the brake test instrument is to be provided as required, for any person so authorised by the Director of Land Transport Safety, for the purpose of checking the accuracy of the brake testing instrument.

I, Thomas Edwin Law, Senior Advisory Officer (Harbours Management), pursuant to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979* and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 257A of the Harbours Act 1950 and section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, hereby give the following notice:

Notice

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Freshwater Basin, Milford Sound) Notice 1995.

(b) This notice shall come into force 14 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, the area specified in the First Schedule shall be reserved for the use of craft turning and manoeuvring into berths at Freshwater Basin.

First Schedule

All that area of water bounded by a line joining the following:

Commencing at the Trig Station at position 44° 40'.123 S 167° 55'.502 E, then 167° 22' to the northern
