Vice Regal : Dismissal of Parliamentary Under-Secretary
Her Excellency the Governor-General, on the advice of the Prime Minister, has this day dismissed Mr Alan Ross Meurant, a Member of Parliament, as Parliamentary Under-Secretary in relation to the offices of the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Forestry.

Notice of Intention to Apply for Leave to Introduce a Private Bill in the House of Representatives
The PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PROPERTY TRUSTEES, a body corporate under the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885, gives notice that it intends to apply for leave to introduce in the House of Representatives, a private bill under the short title of โPresbyterian Church Property Amendment Act 1995โ.
The objects of the Bill are:
(a) To record a change in the name of the Presbyterian Church to the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.
(b) To empower the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church to vary certain charitable trusts for Presbyterian purposes where the original purpose is impossible, impracticable or inexpedient.
(c) To expand the purposes for which trusts held for the purposes of Presbyterian orphanages or related purposes may be applied.
(d) To provide for lists of trustees to be filed in the High Court in Wellington.
(e) To amend the provisions of the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 in relation to execution of documents and entry into contracts.
(f) To extend the powers of the High Court when ordering sale of property that has become unsuitable for church purposes.
(g) To enlarge the powers of the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees and of managers of congregations to apply funds held for congregations.
(h) To restrict the situations in which consent of the General Assembly is required to transactions of the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees relating to certain property.
(i) To authorise the General Assembly to appoint alternative trustees of the Beneficiary Fund of the Presbyterian Church and to simplify provisions for reinvestment.
(j) To extend the power of the General Assembly to delegate its functions.
(k) To repeal certain provisions relating to the computation and investment of the Amalgamated Investment Fund of the Church which are no longer appropriate.
(l) To extend the power of the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees to employ agents in the investment and management of Church funds.
