  1. Daily Limit Bag

(1) A licence holder shall not on any day kill or be in possession of more than two (2) sports fish in the following waters, (including tributaries) where only one (1) of these fish may exceed 500 mm in length.

(a) Branch River;

(b) Clarence River upstream of Glen Alton Bridge (except Lake Tennyson);

(c) D’Urville River;

(d) Daniell’s Lake;

(e) Glenroy River;

(f) Goulter River;

(g) Matakitaki River upstream of its confluence with the Glenroy River;

(h) Motueka River upstream of the State Highway Six Road Bridge;

(i) Motupiko River

(j) Opouri River;

(k) Owen River;

(l) Pearse River;

(m) Pelorus River upstream of its confluence with the Rai River;

(n) Rahu River;

(o) Rainbow River;

(p) Riwaka River;

(q) Ronga River;

(r) Sabine River;

(s) Travers River;

(t) Warwick River;

(u) Whakapuaka River;

(v) Woolley River.

  1. Daily Bag Limit of Killed Trout or Salmon

6.1 No licence holder on any day kill or have in possession more than four (4) sports fish from the following waters (excluding tributaries) of which not more than two (2) may be salmon;

Aorere River downstream of the Rockville Road Bridge;

Buller River;

Cobb Reservoir;

Maruia River;

Matakitaki River downstream of the State Highway Six Road Bridge;

Motueka River downstream of the State Highway Six Road Bridge at Kohatu;

Pelorus River downstream of its confluence with the Rai River;

Queen Charlotte Sound;

Rai River (not including its tributaries);

Rotoiti Lake;

Rotoroa Lake;

Tennyson Lake;

Waimea River;

Wairau River downstream of the Wash Bridge;

Wangapeka River downstream of its confluence with the Dart River.

6.2 All other waters two (2) sports fish

6.3 No licence holder shall continue to fish on any day on which he or she has already killed a limit bag.

  1. Minimum Size

There is no minimum size limit for trout or salmon taken in the Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game region.

  1. Application

This Notice shall apply to all fresh water courses, ponds, lakes and rivers of all sizes and descriptions within the Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game Region and the words “water” and “waters” shall have a corresponding meaning.

  1. Revocation

The District Anglers (Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990 and amendments 1, 2, and 3 are hereby revoked.
