Dental Act 1988

Result of Election of Members to the Dental Council of New Zealand

Pursuant to the Dental Regulations 1988, I, Georgina Alice Jones, the Returning Officer for the purpose of these regulations, hereby give the following notice with respect to the elections of persons to the Dental Council of New Zealand under paragraphs (d), (e) and (f) of section 71 of the Dental Act 1988.

  1. There being only one nominee for the electorate comprising the land registration districts of North Auckland or South Auckland (Northern Electorate), I declare that candidate duly elected, namely John Lewis Edwards, to the council for a term of 3 years commencing on the 29th day of April 1995.

  2. The result of the poll of dentists whose registered addresses are in the land registration districts of Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Wellington, Nelson and Marlborough (Central Electorate), was as follows:

I therefore declare David Wallace Marshall to be elected to the council for a term of 3 years commencing on the 29th day of April 1995.

  1. There being only one nominee for the electorate comprising the land registration districts of Canterbury, Westland, Otago or Southland (Southern Electorate), I declare that candidate duly elected, namely John Hugh Sinclair, to the council for a term of 3 years commencing on the 29th day of April 1995.

Overseas Investment Regulations 1985

The Overseas Investment Exemption Notice 1993 No. 1

Pursuant to the Overseas Investment Regulations 1985, the Overseas Investment Commission hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

Pursuant to regulation 21 of the Overseas Investment Regulations 1985, the Overseas Investment Exemption Notice 1993 No. 1 has been revoked.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette, revokes the exemption granted to Carter Holt Harvey Limited and specified persons in June 1993. The term “specified person” is defined to mean a company which is an overseas person under the regulations, but which would not be an overseas person if Carter Holt Harvey Limited were not an overseas person.

Insurance Companies’ Deposits Act 1953

Proposed Release of Deposit

Allied Mortgage Guarantee Company Limited (herein called “the company”), has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on the business of insurance in New Zealand, and that it proposes to withdraw pursuant to section 19 of the Act, the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 19 (3) of the Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully liquidated, or provided for, he proposes to release to the company on or after 8 August 1995, the amount deposited with him by the company.

Any objections to the release of the amount deposited should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, P.O. Box 5067, 117–125 Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before 8 June 1995.

Transit New Zealand

Transit New Zealand Act 1989

Bylaw Fixing the Maximum Speed of Vehicles on Parts of State Highway No. 1 at Cambridge at 80 K/PH

Pursuant to section 61 (2) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, and section 72 (1) (j) of the Transport Act 1962, Transit New Zealand makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

  1. This bylaw may be cited as Transit New Zealand Bylaw 1995/6.

  2. This bylaw shall come into force immediately.

  3. In this bylaw, “motor vehicle” has the meaning assigned to it in section 2 (1) of the Transport Act 1962.

  4. No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 80 kilometres an hour on that section of State Highway No. 1 at Cambridge from a point approximately 110 metres south of Duke Street (at RP 478/6.93) extending in a southerly direction for a distance of 500 metres to a point approximately 280 metres south of the intersection of State Highway No. 1 and Shakespeare Street (at RP 478/7.43).

  5. Every person who commits an offence under this bylaw is liable upon summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $500.

This bylaw is made by delegated authority from the Transit New Zealand Authority.
