Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947 and section 7 of the Family Courts Act 1980, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Francis William Bremner, District Court Judge, to retire on 23 June 1995

to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, and also to exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Courts pursuant to the said section 7 of the Family Courts Act 1980, for a term of 2 years on and from 26 June 1995.

Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Falsework

Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, Robert J. Hill, General Manager, Occupational Safety and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of my intention to apply to the Minister of Labour for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety for falsework, as an “Approved Code of Practice”, under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.

These preferred work practices or arrangements describe safety and health precautions that should be taken in the design, erection and loading of falsework, where falsework is defined as any temporary structure or framework used to support a permanent structure until it becomes self supporting.

International Air Services Licensing Act 1947

Notice of Intention to Amend an International Air Service Licence

Notice is hereby given that I intend to exercise the power conferred on me by section 14 of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, to amend the terms of the International Air Service Licence issued to Air New Zealand Limited to allow the airline to operate up to the equivalent of ten and one-half B747 return services in total per week to Australia and beyond to Bangkok, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei, Honolulu and/or Los Angeles, with effect from 3 July 1995.

Notice of Application to Amend an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to sections 14 and 14A of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that Air New Zealand Limited has applied for amendments to its International Air Service Licence to enable the airline to operate a fourth B767 service to Seoul and to add Nadi as an optional intermediate point on that route.

Further details of this proposal are available from the Secretary for Transport, Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington.

Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this application must forward the representations to reach me on or before 25 May 1995.
