Officers in the Christchurch City Council Authorised to Take Statutory Declarations

Pursuant to section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957, I hereby authorise the holders for the time being of the offices in the service of the Local Authority specified in the Schedule below to take statutory declarations under the said Act.

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Transport (Vehicle Standards Regulations) Exemption Notice—Glazing

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 28 of the Land Transport Act 1993, by way of instrument of delegation dated 10 August 1994, I, John Andrew Justice, Manager Compliance, hereby exempt vehicles of the classes listed in the first column of the Schedule hereto from the requirements of regulation 11 of the said Transport (Vehicle Standards Regulations) 1990 with regard to the glazing described in the second column of the Schedule only in so far as it affects the light transmittance of the glazing and subject to the conditions in the third column of the Schedule.

M Group
N Group
Glazing behind the rear of the driver’s seat which either has a light transmittance of zero (ie completely opaque), or which completely diffuses incident light. The vehicle must be fitted with external mirrors on both sides.
MA, MB, MC, MD1, MD2, NA Glazing behind the rear of the driver’s seat which has a light transmittance less than 70% but greater than zero, and which passes coherent light. The vehicle must be fitted with external mirrors on both sides, and an opaque transverse partition for the full height and full width of the vehicle must be permanently installed between the driver and any exempted glazing.
MD3, MD4, ME Glazing in side windows behind the rear of the driver’s seat which has a light transmittance less than 70%. The vehicle must be fitted with external mirrors on both sides.
NB, NC Where the vehicle is fitted with a permanent body structure which completely obstructs the driver’s view through the rear window; glazing behind the rear of the driver’s seat which has a light transmittance less than 70%. The vehicle must be fitted with external mirrors on both sides.
M Group Glazing in rear windows to which advertising transfers or other treatments have been applied under a contractual arrangement entered into before the commencement of this exemption notice. Only for the term of any contract signed before publication of this notice. The vehicles must be fitted with external mirrors on both sides.
